A review on friction stir-based channeling
نویسندگان
چکیده
Friction stir-based channeling is a solid-state processing encompassing the friction stir (FSC) and its variants. In one manufacturing action, FSC delivers subsurface internal closed channel in monolithic plate with no length limitation. The unique characteristics of theses internally channels produced can fit demand from several industrial fields, namely lightweight structurally stiffened panels applications where high power density requires highly efficient thermal management systems, such as electronics electric vehicles-based transportation. This first review on variants encompasses systematic comprehensive understanding physical properties, including performance manufacturability applied to different engineering materials. discussion emphasized working principle formation, tool design, influence process parameters, geometrical characterization, mechanical hardness field microstructural features correlated properties. It be summarized that novel by enhances compared conventional fabrication techniques. produce complex path various sizes, shapes surface finishing. Precise control parameters material flow governs formation subsequently influences performances channels. has been range systems potential for many demanding existent enabling new high-performance products. From initial concept based shoulder-workpiece clearance, most recent solutions, stationary shoulder FSC, no-tilt-angle no-shoulder-workpiece allowing large size channels, leaving processed at original quota ready used. A significant leap introduced Hybrid simultaneous welding channeling, similar dissimilar metal components, therefore, enhancing design opportunities even more competitive solutions.

Review: friction stir welding tools
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a widely used solid state joining process for soft materials such as aluminium alloys because it avoids many of the common problems of fusion welding. Commercial feasibility of the FSW process for harder alloys such as steels and titanium alloys awaits the development of cost effective and durable tools which lead to structurally sound welds consistently. Material...
متن کاملA Review on Friction Stir Welding of Steel
–Friction stir welding is a solid state welding technology used for welding low melting point metals, such as Al, Mg and its alloys. Later welding was conducted on dissimilar metals which also produced a better defect free joint. Tool design and welding parameters contributes a major role for producing a better weld. Material flow and friction heat are the factors that the internal factor for t...
متن کاملFriction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloys: A Review
Friction stir welding is a solid state joining process. High strength aluminum alloys are widely used in aircraft and marine industries. Generally, the mechanical properties of fusion welded aluminum joints are poor. As friction stir welding occurs in solid state, no solidification structures are created thereby eliminating the brittle and eutectic phases common in fusion welding of high streng...

Friction stir welding is a relatively new solid-state joining technique which is widely adopted in different industry fields to join different metallic alloys that are hard to weld by conventional fusion welding. Friction stir welding is a highly complex process comprising several highly coupled physical phenomena. The complex geometry of some kinds of joints and their three dimensional nature ...
